My purposes for starting this blog are simple:
To offer: Prayer, support and encouragement to one another
By: Memorizing and/or meditating on God’s Word and practicing accountability with each other.
Why: To overcome sinful and bad habits, addictions, procrastination, emotional instability (including double-mindedness) or any other area we need God’s help with.
We serve a wonderful God! I’m thankful His mercy and love is abundant towards us every time we go to Him to confess our sins.
So in view of God’s great love for us …
We have a decision to make:
Are we going to choose to follow God and live for Him each day with each choice? Or are we going to live casually and hope for the best?
I’m looking for people who desire to commit themselves fully to the Lord and who help me do the same.
I believe as we spend more time meditating on scripture and/or committing verses to memory, our victories over sin (including poor choices and addictions) will dramatically increase. Hiding God’s word in our hearts will also equip us to handle relationships, choose correct priorities, and deal wisely with difficulties.
And best of all, we will grow in our knowledge of God’s incredible love for us as we grow in our love for Him!
To help you memorize the verses, you can write the scripture out by hand on an index card. Or click on the Biblegate.com link to copy and paste the verse in any Bible translation you choose. The “Preparing Scripture Memory Cards” tab may also be helpful.
I look forward to see what will happen within our hearts and lives as we pursue this endeavor!
Will you join us?
Psalm 119:11 (NIV)
I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.
Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Joshua 1:8 (AMP)
This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.
