I couldn’t separate these two verses, so we will be memorizing (and/or meditating on) both verses. I think you will find them very easy to memorize!
Psalm 18:16-17 (New International Version)
16 He reached down from on high and took hold of me;
he drew me out of deep waters.
17 He rescued me from my powerful enemy,
from my foes, who were too strong for me.
Psalm 18:16-17 (Amplified Bible) For meditation purposes
16 He reached from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.
17 He delivered me from my strong enemy and from those who hated and abhorred me, for they were too strong for me.
What about you? (Share your answers and comments, via the comment link below.)
- Do you ever feel like your drowning in the deep waters of depression or anxiety?
- Or are you feeling as if certain people or some of life’s circumstances are too strong for you?
- Have you ever experienced God’s hand taking hold of you to draw you out of an emotional battle, real danger, or a terrible situation? Even when you caused the situation yourself?
Also, please keep sharing what methods you use to memorize scripture and your stories about how memorizing God’s Word helped you during difficult seasons. I am hoping to share some of the stories (with your permission) in a future post.
I am pleased to hear that Ariana, a seven-year-old, has successfully memorized last week’s verse! Her grandmother sent me the video (see below) of her reciting Psalm 18:1.
Please send me videos of your little ones reciting any Bible verse. I’d love to post them! It would also be nice to have our older participants send recordings of them reciting scripture, too. And, if you’d like, give a short testimony of why you love the verse. (You can record from your Smartphone or other device and email me the video. Click on the “About” tab to find my email address.)
